A Horizon Europe project building a resilient European food chain against intentional and accidental chemical, biological, and radiological contamination through AI, advanced detection, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. McGill leads two WP5 tasks on knowledge management and adaptive training.

A four-year Horizon Europe initiative equipping African producers, policymakers, and trade actors with evidence, digital tools, and convergent innovation frameworks for climate-neutral, fair, and just agri-food trade. McGill leads Work Package 1.
A five-year FRQ Science Diplomacy Research Chair program, delivered through the Food Convergence Innovation Africa Network (FCI-Africa), that bridges scientific research, policy making, and international collaboration to accelerate sustainable agrifood system transformation across Africa. The SSL Lab leads Work Package 1, the data and analytics backbone of the program.
McGill’s contribution to the Nkabom Collaborative applies the Food Convergence Innovation (FCI) approach to support youth-led transformation of Ghana’s agri-food and nutrition systems. Four interlinked initiatives in sustainability assessment, digital nutrition intelligence, lean processing support, and science diplomacy translate research into practical tools for SMEs, policymakers, and artisanal processors.
An NRC-funded digital twin platform for pilot-scale pea and faba bean protein fractionation, built to optimize quality, cost, and environmental performance in a single loop. Delivered an interactive decision-support dashboard for Canadian processors. Completed March 2026.
